This presentation explores the progress different groups (e.g., based on race/ethnicity) have made by comparing opinions collected in the 1990’s (in support of the Glass Ceiling Study and the Fair and Equitable Treatment Study) and in 2007 with the Career Advancement Survey. Analyses of the Civilian Personnel Data File provide objective data regarding the progress of these groups in terms of representation and pay.

Executive mentoring or coaching is an opportunity for Federal employees to meet with a
seasoned and senior Federal manager to receive personalized career advice. Coaching provides
an opportunity for more direct, give-and-take interaction than plenary sessions or larger
workshops. The format of the coaching session will be one on one or in small groups with the
questions limited to professional advice.
E4. Everything and Anything You Ever Wanted to Know About the EEO Process - Helen Hagin, DOT [Go To Top]
An overview of the process. The seminar is delivered primarily in a lecture format. However,
case studies and participants’ experiences are used throughout the seminar to clarify and demonstrate
the practical application of the information delivered by the seminar trainer(s). Group
discussion is encouraged and facilitated as it enhances the learning experience.
The primary focus is on federal EEO laws and the statutory EEO process and procedures. Participants
will learn about the rights of employees and the responsibilities of the agency. The
workshop will cover harassment, both sexual nonsexual and discuss the “No Fear Act.” The
workshop will also include a session on the “Benefits of Mediation.”

Briefing on the various “do’s and don’ts” connected with interviewing. This Workshop will cover interviewing techniques and preparation at the executive level. Many Agencies increasingly rely on behavioral interviews since they use your previous behavior to indicate your future performance. In these interviews,employers use standardized methods to mine information relevant to your competency in a particular area or position.

This will be an Interactive Session to promote leadership skills and organizational effectiveness. We will discuss behaviors, policies and procedures that experience have shown to produce good results.
