The Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) was founded in 1985. It is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization representing the civilian and military Asian Pacific American (APA) employees in the Federal and District of Columbia governments. Our Mission FAPAC is an organization that promotes equal opportunity and cultural diversity for APAs within the Federal and District of Columbia governments. FAPAC encourages the participation and advancement of APAs in the Government work force. Our Vision FAPAC will be a nationally recognized organization that serves as a conduit through which the interests, issues and representation of Asian Pacific Americans in the Federal, State, County, City and District of Columbia governments are addressed. It will also promote partnerships with the public and private sectors in the community it serves. |

VICE PRESIDENT Alexander Thai He/Him Vice President Thai is currently an Information Technology (IT) Project Manager within the Office of Information Technology, End User Services, Project Management Center of Excellence. As an IT project manager, he is currently working on projects supporting the Veterans Health Administration’s National Radiation Oncology Program and enterprise-wide efforts to modernize transport layer security. |
TREASURER Christine Salcedo After eight years of serving the U.S. Army Reserves, with one year serving active duty in Afghanistan, Treasurer Salcedo finished her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology and later achieved a Master of Public Administration at San Jose State University where her academic network landed her Pathways internship with the Department of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) in 2014. After three years as a Pathways intern, she became the secretary for the Office of the Chief of Staff in 2017 and one year later she became the Management and Program Analyst of Medical Service. Christine soon progressed as the Administrative Officer and today she holds the position as Health System Specialist for the Office of the Deputy Executive Director at VAPAHCS. Throughout her years at VAPAHCS, she has held multiple collateral positions promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. In 2017, she became the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Island Special Emphasis Program Manager (SEPM). In 2019, she took on the Veterans SEPM. While serving as the AANHPI SEPM, she explored a leadership opportunity with the Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) and became co-chair of the Bylaws and Constitution Committee and today, she is co-chair of the Public Relations Committee, while also holding the Treasurer position for the FAPAC VA Chapter. |
SECRETARY Bharati Jamro Secretary Jamro is the virtual case manager at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital inpatient rehabilitation unit. Bharati Jamro has been a virtual case manager since 2020. Prior to her role as the virtual case manager, she was also employed as a polytrauma case manager, and as a social worker in SCI services and medicine services. She has been employed at JAHVH since 2005. Mrs. Jamro attended University of South Florida and the University of Florida and received a degree in Social Work and Sociology. Some of her accomplishments include Special Emphasis Program Manager for Asian Pacific Islander; PRIDE mentor; graduated vALP (Virtual Aspiring Leadership Program; CEU reviewer, and EAP counselor. |
